Christmas Projects

I don't know why it is, but I am always working on my Christmas projects at the last minute.  This year is no exception.  I did get to make a few magnet calendars with my sister and nieces.

This was a great girlfriends project.  It took about an hour to make and we all had fun seeing how differently everyone's project turned out.

I am behind on pretty much everything, but I did start my Remember December album this week.  This is based on Ali Edwards December Daily album.  I was so excited to see that a Making Memories felt album was returned to the store because it fell apart, because we sold out of them so quickly that I didn't get one.  I loved the white stitched edges of the album.  I pulled the album out of the garbage and took it home and punched new holes with the cropodile, then used two cute big red brads to repair the album.    I cannot bear to see something go to waste.  I was lucky to get these cute My Little Bicycle numbers.  It's been hard for me, but I have been doing my journaling daily, and I will add the photos when I have more time.  I have been wanting to do one of these albums for years and I have finally started.  This year I will Remember December!

  
  

Felt Fun

Sometimes boxes arrive at the store and Jen opens them and says - "What the heck is Jennifer thinking?"  I think that happened this week when I ordered a ton of beautiful wool felt in the most yummy Christmas colors.  I couldn't wait to bring home a piece of each color.  Felt embellishments are very popular right now and they are so easy and fun to make yourself.  Using this wonderful felt and our die cut center you can cut flowers, gingerbread men, Christmas trees and stockings and so much more.  Embellish with a button, bow or glitter and you have an amazing embellishment for only pennies.  Stop by and take a look at this felt.  You have to see and touch to believe. 

 

Beautiful Baby

Our new grandbaby has arrived.  Actually she arrived last week just before Thanksgiving, but I couldn't post any pictures because I was stranded (visiting a different daughter)  in Idaho with no computer and no internet.  So without further ado, meet Hannah Mary Critchfield, weighing in at a petite 6 pounds 12 ounces, but with more hair than other baby I've ever seen.  I am so excited to go visit the family next week.  I just love newborns!  I love all the big kids too and it seems like Joe has grown into a little man since I saw him in August.

Mini Book "Noel"

It's been a long time since I used SEI.  I was so happy to see Winter Song for the Holidays.  The colors are beautiful.  The letter stickers have a velvet finish and the accents add a lot sparkle to the book since their covered in glitter!

The book has chipboard covers and the pages are cardstock.  The pages are two layers thick so they aren't flimsy. I love making little books this way.  Come to class so I can show you how to create a book with just a little chipboard and paper (and cute accents, of course!).

Perpetual Planner Kit - A Great Gift Idea!

 

Have you seen this darling perpetual planner we have in the store? Jodi Russell put together this amazing calendar journal using paper and stickers from the Creative Imaginations, plus her Slice machine. There is a monthly calendar for each month, plus pages for birthdays, events, or notes about the month. Use this journal to keep track of the things you want to scrapbook for each month of the year!

Year-Round Calendars

Our November and December calendar kits were so popular that we put together a calendar use all year round! We've cut various chipboard shapes that you can cover with paper and add a magnet to the back. Plus we've used Flair buttons, tags, clear stones, and more to make unique magnets that can be used for all seasons. We have everything you need to make this cute calendar!

Little Yellow Bicycle Christmas Album

This Christmas album by Gail Jenkins is gorgeous! She started with the Little Yellow Bicylce chipboard and acrylic album and added LYB paper and pieces from the LYB Christmas Journaling Tablet. Easy and cute!

 

QuicKutz Crew Swap Reminder

Hello QuicKutz Crew! We saw many of you last week during our Holiday Open House, and I tried to make sure you had each signed up for the swap if you wanted to. The deadine posted on the blog was the 19th. Hopefully you contacted me if you wanted to participate! Our meeting is next Friday, December 4th. The challenge this month is to use the "negative space" of a die cut, so the part that you usually throw away! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
