Lasting Memories

We are BACK!

We arrived home from CHA last night.  We spent a full week in Anaheim and really enjoyed the warmer weather.  It was so nice to feel the sun on our face.  I could have spent another week just soaking up the sunshine. 

Instead I staggered into  about 10:30 last night, and went straight to bed.  I woke up about 8 and stayed in my jammies, then had my first nap around 11 and a second one about 2.  My girls called and woke me up so that I could go to the grocery store, but I fell asleep again.  I finally put some clothes on around 3, popped into the store to take some photos for the newsletter, and picked up a few groceries.  Since I am turning 50 this year, my age is the standing joke about everything I do and this was no exception.  Since I am getting so "old" I need more sleep.  I have been reminded that I used to go into work the day after CHA. 

We had a funny thing happen to us at the airport yesterday.  We had a LOT of luggage.  We each had two big suitcases to check and two carry ons.  Everything was heavy.  Lee dropped us off at the airport and went to return the rental car.  Somehow I ended up pushing the luggage cart with most of the suitcased piled on top of it.  Erin was way up in front, but Megan was a few feet in front of me.  I am pretty short to be pushing something taller than I was.  First I ran straight into a fire hydrant with the luggage cart, Megan was laughing so hard that she could hardly walk, so were the skycaps at the Alaska Airlines desk.  Then, to provide them with even more amusement, I navigated around the fire hydrant, around a corner and started down toward the sliding doors and all off the suitcases fell off of the cart.  Megan was still laughing (and so were the skycaps) and Erin came back to see what was taking us so long and began taking pictures. 

 

 

 

When we weighed the luggage it was all withing a couple of pounds of being 50 pounds, only one suitcase was over at 51.5 pounds. 

We had a great show and bought a lot of new things, got tons of great ideas and can't wait to show all of you everything we saw.

My CHA show and tell is February 6th.  We have filled the first session and have added a later one at 9:00 pm for everyone who wants to see all the cool stuff we brought back. 

Mini-Album - "True Love"

True Love is what I'm feeling for the Crush line by Theresa Collins.  You can do so much with this paper.  It's double sided,there are tickets, words and shapes you can cut out and use as embellishments.  What's not to love, right?

I used our card portfolio from the die cut center as the "home" for a cute accordion style album.  The album tucks in one side leaving the other side to slip in some sweet little notes or more photos.

I want that bike!

I want a Little Yellow Bicycle! We told you it was cute when we first saw it.  Now we have seen the real thing - a little yellow Bicycle.  We can enter to win one... I hope we win.  I think I would look so cute riding it.  It could help me save money on gas....

Here is another cute thing we saw while browsing their booth - a welcome banner.  They used some of their new products on it.  I think you will love the new lines from Little Yellow Bicycle!

Maybe the funniest thing I have ever seen

This is what we saw at the CHA show today.  Yes, this lady has put her son in her wheeled tote bag and is carrying her scrapbook supplies in her hands.... I guess they don't allow strollers on the showroom floor.  The little boy seemed to be having a good time though.  He was probably just happy to stay with his mommy at the show.

Little Yellow Bicycle... wow!  It is so cute! *-- BREATHE--*--BREATHE--* Jennifer stopped in the middle of the presentation just to play with the paper...!  There are new releases for baby boy and girl and travel.  Jennifer says "This is the best I've seen so far!"

Coming to you live from CHA

 Hello there!  We are in California attending the Craft and Hobby tradeshow. Our vendors are presenting all kinds of cool, new products.  During one of the product presentations, the fire alarm starting going off.  At first we all just sat there and ignored it.  After an announcement to exit the building, we all got up and started to leave.  What do you think people were taking with them?  All the product samples and order forms!  I thought we learned in elementry school how to do a fire drill.  I guess there are some things that are just too important to leave behind (scrapbook supplies!)  It turned out it was just to test the alarm, so we all came back inside and continued on with the presentations.

We will be posting pictures of some of the new products later this evening.  This picture shows Lee winning a Slice!

Mini-Album - "Some BUNNY Loves You"

I really love Valentines Day!  It's not the love, romance, candy and flowers but the PAPER!!!  I know I have a problem, but paper makes me happy!  I sigh at the thought of all the Valentine goodness you can make with just a little bit of paper.

So, here is the first of a few Valentine projects I'll be doing over the next couple of weeks.  This little 6 x6 book is made with cardstock and patterned paper.  The book opens up with flaps going left, right, top and bottom. We R Memory Keepers made theadorable paper that has (4) 6X6 squares on each sheet of paper.  I love it when companies do that. (It's such a great value!)  It's embellished with embossed stickers and adorable ribbon.  This is a fun book that I'm sure you'll find yourself making again with all of that paper stash you have!

Quickutz Party

Every year we have a party for members of our Quickutz Crew who buy LOTS of Quickutz from Lasting Memories over a years period of time.  This year we had Dan and Kirk from Quickutz come demonstrate the silhouette and do a Revolution demo.  Then we played 1 vs. the crew for great prizes,  had dinner, and visited a lot.  A wonderful time was had by all.
