Last Year Lee and I did the Northwest Paper Chase and took our own pictures in front of every store. Yesterday we started the Paper Chase in the pouring rain, but we brought Erin, our “official” photographer, with us. There are twice as many stores to visit this year, so we are planning another day visiting scrapbook stores. In the morning the rain put a little damper on our visits, but the sun was shining by afternoon and we really enjoyed seeing all the stores.
The highlight of the afternoon wasn’t a scrapbook store, but a bakery. A friend of mine told me about a wonderful gluten free bakery in Kent just about 3 blocks away from the Scrapbook Nook. I found out in 2007 that I have celiac disease, which is the inability of my body to process gluten which is found in wheat, barley and rye. It is completely controlled by a gluten free diet. I love eating fresh fruit and vegetables and meat, but every once in a while, I miss baked goodies. (Actually I think I just miss the smell of baked goodies.) Anyway, we stopped at Haley’s corner bakery and bought a loaf of bread, a slice of pizza and a cookie, all of which are absolutely heavenly and a wonderful treat after a long hard day visiting scrapbook stores.
We are looking forward to seeing more Paper Chasers this weekend! On Saturday the 29th we will be giving away FREE Creative Imaginations mini-albums to the first 15 customers to spend $35. We will also be puting all of our clearance items 75% off. There are some wonderful bargains in there and you will want to shop early for the best selection.
