Northwest Paper Chase Shop Hop

 
Next weekend the Northwest Paper Chase begins and we're so excited to be a part of it! Don't know what I'm talking about? Here's how it works.

Purchase the pin and passport from us or www.northwestpaperchase.com for $9. Visit participating local scrapbooking and stamping stores between March 5th and 21st. Be sure to bring your passport and pin because together they entitle you to 20% off your purchases. Get your passport stamped at each store and you'll be eligible to win one of several prizes after the shop hop. We'll even have a make 'n take tag for participants (while supplies last).

Mini Book "Little Man"

My Minds Eye has done such a wonderful job creating collections and the new lines are no exception to that!  I love the thick double sided papers and coordinating punch outs.  My favorite thing has to be the cardstock sticker tickets!  They are so cute and I love the convenience of them being self adhesive.

I used the Little Boy Blue collection for this book.  The base is chipboard (how would we survive in this world without chipboard?) embellished with paper, punch outs, stickers and ribbon.  I bound the book with office rings or you could use the Bind It All.

Making Memories Weekend - I can't wait!

 
Every time I go to the Making Memories Web site, I get more and more excited for our upcoming Making Memories event! There are so many things to be pumped about, but I'm most excited about the hands-free kit for the Slice and the Vintage Groove jewelry line. And we are so lucky to have both of these as a part of our March event.

When Making Memories comes, not only are the instructors and projects amazing, but you end up with extra product that you can use on numerous other projects. They're so generous! And this year we have a very generous Saturday activity. Join us for a Make 'n Take where you'll use the Slice with the new hands-free kit AND make a jewelry project using their new Vintage Groove jewelry line. FOR FREE. Just be sure to call and sign up so you can reserve your spot. We'll have them every half hour between 1:00 and 3:00, and we'll be sure to add more time slots if the earlier times fill.

Here are samples of the baby book class and the 2-page layout class. They are amazing, especially for the price! We do suggest you are familiar with the Slice machine before signing up for these two classes--they are advanced and you'll get behind if you're trying to learn as you go. We have an Intro to the Slice class for Slice owners that's happening March 9th, just in time for our MM weekend, so sign up for that if you want to be in shape for the big event!

"Eat Cake" Banner Class

Our amazing teacher Bethany has a great new class for March. She's created a bright and cheery celebration banner that can be used for any occasion--not just birthdays. It says "Eat Cake" and features a sparkly cupcake in the center. I love the colors she's used--not too girly, and not necessarily boyish. Just right for whoever or whatever you want to celebrate!

An amazing feature of this class is the chance you'll have to practice some "mixed media" techniques, an area in which Bethany is an expert. There will be chipboard, paper, glitter, crepe paper, pom-pom trim, and she'll even let you use her sewing machine! These are skills you'll carry over to scrapbooking and card-making as well. You don't want to miss this class!

New Cosmo Cricket is IN!

The new Garden Variety, Material Girl, and Joy Ride collections from Cosmo Cricket are in! The staff has been anticipating them and we were not disappointed. Check out what design team member Bethany Crowell came up with using these amazing new lines. Yummy, aren't they?

A "LUSH-ious" Mini Book

Laurie from our design team created this gorgeous mini album using the new LUSH line from My Mind's Eye. It uses the pretty mini book plus coordinating papers, chipboard alphabets, ribbon, rhinestones, and brads. Come in and see it up close--you'll be inspired!

Velcro and Stickles - A Stunning Combination

Last week I noticed a huge roll of Velcro in the stock room and wondered what in the world we would be doing with it. Then I saw this ingenious invention Jennifer created.

Strips of Velcro on a piece of chipboard are the perfect way to store Stickles upside down. Why would you want to do that? Have you ever had to repeatedly shake your Stickles to get the flow going? No more shaking! The bottle is primed and ready to go every time. Plus, look how neatly they are organized? Genius.

And yes, we will sell you some Velcro if you want it. Just ask!

Everything's coming up roses. . .

Everything's coming up roses at Lasting Memories! And daisies, and chrysanthemums. . . We are looking forward to Spring so much that we've decided to have a weekly flower project for you at the store for the next couple of months until the real flowers arrive. Join us on Saturdays to make a different flower using paper, ribbon, felt, and more for just a dollar or two each!

At least once a week I get asked by a customer how we made these adorable "puff balls" we have hanging in the store. They're really pretty easy, so we decided to make them our first "flower" make and take. Come make this mini version of our puff balls for $1 on Saturday, February 27th between 11:00am and 1:00pm. They're perfect to hang for birthdays, showers, or just to brighten up your room! One of our customers said her baby loves them so much that she hung them throughout the house for him.

Flower Arranging Made Easy!

Jennifer found these cool Easy Arrangers at CHA and I just put them out tonight. It's a wire grid that fits over the top of your vase to allow you to arrange flowers evenly, and they're so cool! Plus there are jewel dangles to hang from the edges to dress up your arrangement. Some of the staff thought they'd also make cool embellishments for a scrapbook page!

 

Mini Book "See The World"

 I think Imaginisce Scooter's Vacation Collection is about the cutest thing I've seen in a long time!  I fell in love with this cute little dog and the red scooter the second I saw them!

I made this little album with the large die cut tag from our die cut center along with some envelopes and stamped journaling cards inside.  The chipboard and puffy stickers are just adorable.  I especially like the camera stamp from this line.  I'm sure everyone can use that one over and over.....

I designed this with a definite travel theme but don't feel limited to just that.  There are lots of journeys we take in life not just vacations!
