This is Mandy, LM's class coordinator and resident blogger, and this is a really difficult post to write. By now many of you know that Lasting Memories is closing it's doors. After 14 wonderful years, Jennifer and Lee have decided it's time to retire so they can take care of themselves and spend more time with family. Their lease will be up in June and it seemed like the perfect time to make their exit. They shared this news with the staff on Wednesday night and there were many tears (and laughter too--we've had some seriously silly moments here!). We know many of you feel like a part of the Lasting Memories family, and this almost feels like losing a member of the family. But we hope you'll see it like Lee does: "It's a party, not a funeral!"
Because things have happened so quickly, we know there are so many questions and feelings and some confusion right now, but we hope you can be patient as we work through all the details. We will be calling some of you to cancel classes (although a few of them will still be happening), or to make sure you pick up a pre-paid item. And more information will be coming. You might receive a postcard in the mail (if we had your mailing address), and the weekly newsletter will be e-mailed soon to those with e-mail addresses in our system. I'll also be updating the blog with information and pictures of new products.
Today we were busy restocking and rearranging the store for our big closing sale. Some of you may have been watching us on the Scrappin' Cams and thinking we were packing up. But we have actually been unpacking boxes and boxes of new products for our big sale next week. True to Lasting Memories, we're going out in style! CHA orders are still coming in and will continue over the next couple of weeks.
Even though the store looks like a tacky mattress liquidation sale from the outside, inside things are still warm and homey, and it's full of gorgeous products. Here are a few of the areas we restocked today:
albums and page protectors,
adhesives,
and punches.

And we still have so many full sections of brand new product that you'll get 20% off of during our big sale.

We are looking forward to seeing many of our old friends during our sale. Please come down and shop, say hello, and reminisce with us. The "retirement" sale starts Monday, April 26th at 11:00am. Our hours during the sale will be Monday - Saturday 11:00am to 7:00pm.
Laurie told us this quote on Wednesday night:
"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened!"
Hope to see all your smiling faces soon!
